Join the Co-op

Joining the Co-op is an easy and straightforward process. If you have any questions about joining, please contact us for more information.

Here are the Easy Steps:

Just download the membership form (a PDF form)
Fill it out and attach your most recent audited financial statement
Mail or fax it all to us

The Co-op board will review your information and contact you with a decision about your membership. You will be required to purchase two shares* (see the table below) to become a member of the Co-op. Additional shares are charged to you based on your organization's income. For every increment of $50,000 your organization will be required to purchase one share up to the maximum revenue of $10 million.

From the above table, you can see that all organizations purchase two shares at application. Additional share purchases will be required based on your organization�s gross revenue � the higher the revenue, the more share subscriptions required.

When organizations first consider joining UCSC, the first question is typically - Is there an annual fee for joining the Co-op?

The answer is No. There is no annual membership fee. Organizations subscribe to Co-op shares when they join, but do not subsidize it on an ongoing basis. After that, the Co-op must survive through its business activities.

However, all of the subscribed shares do not have to be paid immediately. The actual payment for shares will be worked out on a case by case basis. This will assist the new member to start acquiring benefits right way and smoothes out the Co-op�s cash flow.
