Big Picture. Wide Open Space.
Our world has become increasingly interconnected and shaped by globalization, technology, financial markets, and threats to the environment. It’s a complex and changing place for non-profit and community organizations today. Now is an ideal time for Leading Change.
Every two years, the United Community Services Co-op (UCS Co-op) hosts Leading Change, a two day session that is designed to challenge leaders in the non-profit and community sector to think creatively, find and connect with new partners and allies, and together identify and move on action plans to address today’s pressing issues for the sector and for your organizations.
Leading Change 2009 (LC2009) will once again be inspired by our venue – this year being held on June 15 and 16 at the Liu Institute for Global Issues. This interdisciplinary research institute located at the University of British Columbia brings together academics and practioners and seeks to improve knowledge, facilitate dialogue, and act as a catalyst for change. It is a perfect venue for LC2009.
Inspired by the Liu’s global perspective, at this year’s Leading Change we ask - “How Are You Going to Change the World?”
A signature component of Leading Change has been its open space format – where the agenda and topics discussed and workshopped are identified on the spot. LC2009 will again be inspired by this format, but will evolve as it has each time. So as always, come prepared with the topics, ideas and opportunities you are ready to think creatively and take action on. Make your Leading Change experience what you want it to be.
